La Asociación Peruana de Facultades de Medicina –ASPEFAM, elabora su Plan de Trabajo para el periodo 2023-2025, el mismo que consta de cuatro ejes estratégicos y ha sido formulado de manera colaborativa con los aportes de las diferentes redes temáticas con el propósito de continuar fortaleciendo la calidad de la educación médica en nuestro país.

Dicho documento se estructuró durante una reunión de trabajo que se realizó el pasado sábado 15 de julio y que contó con la participación del Presidente de ASPEFAM, Dr. Miguel Fernando Farfán Delgado, así como los miembros del Consejo Directivo, los integrantes del Equipo ENAM y los coordinadores de las siete redes temáticas.

El Plan de Trabajo fue sustentado por el Secretario Ejecutivo de ASPEFAM, Dr. Manuel Núñez Vergara, quien destacó los aportes y acciones propuestos por las redes temáticas, que han dado contenido a los cuatro ejes estratégicos orientados a contribuir a la calidad y la formación integral de los profesionales médicos.

Asimismo, se plantean un conjunto de acciones orientadas a fortalecer la formación integral, el intercambio de experiencias y la internacionalización de las facultades de medicina; así como el fortalecimiento del carácter formativo del Residentado Médico, y la consolidación de la institucionalidad de ASPEFAM.

The WFME President, Professor Ricardo León-Bórquez, and WFME Operations Manager, Mrs. Barbora Hrabalová, engaged with the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA) during the 72nd IFMSA March Meeting in Tallinn, Estonia. Their presence allowed for productive discussions on accreditation and quality assurance in medical education.

Professor León’s address at the IFMSA General Assembly inspired students to actively participate in improving medical education systems. Through the Standing Committee of Medical Education (SCOME) Sessions, he shared insights on student engagement in accreditation and quality assurance, empowering participants to advocate for change. Additionally, a roundtable discussion facilitated dialogue on national AQA challenges, with Professor León offering guidance to IFMSA Member Nations.

Overall, the collaboration between WFME and IFMSA during the meeting contributed to advancing student involvement and we hope to continue being part of these important discussions.
